Yes, it's completely out of season but... After using this collection kit more times than I can count I finally finished it!
There were no full 12x12 sheets but a few larger scraps that I was able to use for a couple backgrounds. As usual I made multiples of each card sometimes changing the pattern paper for the focal panels and other times using solid cardstock for backgrounds. To keep the cardstock from being too plain I used background cover dies, a quilted pattern and diagonal stripes, for texture.
With all the different colors in the pattern paper I had a wide selection of colors to choose from for the matting. I used everything from bright pink and teal to orange and navy blue. Several of the prints worked great with Spellbinders's Have a Chill Summer stamp set that I had picked up during one of their sales. I used several different type of embellishments from my stash including enamel dots, brads and Queen and Co bling.
The kit is finally gone, even most of the icon stickers have been used. The kit was dated 2017 and while I don't think I've had it quite that long I'm sure it has been several years.
Sometimes with 12x12 papers the images are just too large to use on A2 sized cards but this kit was perfect! From the size of the prints to the mix of tone-on-tone style papers, this kit was great. The prints and colors in the kit were great for fun summer themed cards as well as birthday and "hello" cards, notecards and more. I was able to make so many cards from this kit. To see more cards using this kit here's a link to cards I created back in May of 2021.
In between other projects I have been pulling out partially finished paper pads with the goal of using them up. This time I pulled out the Fashionista paper pad by Echo Park. I've used this paper pad several times and like the pink and mint green colors. The bit of black in most of the prints made using black cardstock for the matting an easy choice.
The first few cards all feature the same layout. For these cards I focused on using the remaining full 6x6 sheets of paper. I used a full sheet of the dress form print and shoe print to create 4 focal panels which I paired with the remaining 6x6 sheets. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and trimmed into a banner. To finish the cards I added 3 brads or rhinestones in the right corner of the focal panel.
Now I was down to only scrap pieces of patterned paper. For the remaining cards I used white shimmer paper for the backgrounds and more black cardstock for all the matting. The card pairs the make-up print with the large pink/white polka dot print. For embellishment I added 2 black glitter Love from Lizi peel-offs across the focal panel.
This card features 3 pattern papers. The focal panel is more of the make-up print paired with a dark pink floral print and a small black/white polka dot print for the banner. Two of the panels are matted with black cardstock. I skipped matting the polka dot print as I think there was enough contrast without the matting. I added a simple "hello!" sentiment stamped in Onyx Black ink and a few brads in the upper right corner to finish the card.
I pulled out one of my go-to sketches for this card. To soften the card I rounded the upper right corner of the focal panel and the background. The focal panel, a fun street scene, is paired with a multi-color geometric print. The sentiment is stamped in Onxy Black ink and trimmed into a fishtail banner. For embellishment I added 3 mint green brads.
The last card uses more of the fun street scene print paired with a floral. It's a super simple layout with 2 rectangle panels - 1 vertical and 1 horizontal. I used Spellbinders dies to create the circular sentiment which breaks up all of the straight lines. A few more mint green brads and the card is complete.
I really liked the clean, uncluttered look of all the cards. Also, being able to use black cardstock for the matting and not having to search for coordinating colored cardstock made this batch of cards easy to create. This finished up the last of the Fashionista paper pad and made a small dent in the hundreds of brads I have in my stash. LOL.
