In keeping with the hot weather and my goal to use up partial kits, I decided on Echo Park's Good Day Sunshine Collection kit. I've used the kit at least twice in the past but there were still several large pieces of paper remaining. I looked for sketches where I could feature larger "blocks" of paper either as the background or the focal panel.
The first card features a very simple layout. I used the blue and white plaid for the background and the fun frozen treat print for the focal panel. To add a bit of interest I used a yellow glitter paper for the horizontal fishtail banner. The simple "Stay Cool" sentiment coordinates with the focal panel images.
The second card features a bright floral print. I was able to use a scrap of the blue and white plaid for the small strip on the right side of the card. For some separation I added a red scalloped border strip between the 2 papers. A "Happy Birthday" sentiment and a few white Nuvo drops sprinkled around the sentiment and the upper right corner finished the card.
The striped paper must have been one of my favorites as there wasn't much left. To "stretch" it I used small strips on the top and bottom on the card instead of a full card front. The focal panel of beach-y images covered the gap between the 2 striped papers. For interest I added more of the yellow glitter paper as a scalloped strip above the focal panel and as a thin strip below the focal panel.
The last card used one of my favorite papers - the lemon and cherry print. I was planning to focus on the lemons, but... I have a Queen and Co. fruit themed shaker kit that I haven't used yet. The kit includes a cherry die and a cherry themed sentiment. They were perfect for this card.
As usual I made multiples of each card when there was enough paper. I still haven't finished off the kit but I'm ready to move on. Now to decide if I should do another summer theme or something completely different.
